The Beat
Soccer Buzz is the exclusive magazine on the Internet devoted to women's collegiate soccer at the NCAA Division 1 level. Buzz began publishing on the Web in 1996 while based in Washington, DC and moved offices in 1998 to New York City. Currently, we provide information on teams, players, games and coaches for over 310 universities and colleges across the US. Game results are provided by NCAA member institutions and posted here as they are made available. Additional features, polls and statistics are efforts on behalf of staff members at Soccer Buzz to publish collected opinions and research from the experts in the soccer world. Soccer Buzz remains a free publication to all fans with access to the Internet and can be found at www.soccerbuzz.com. For those individuals with email desiring regular updates, email subscriptions can be submitted here.

While we remain dedicated to covering women's Division 1 collegiate soccer, we continue to explore expanded coverage of other levels of college and soccer in general.

The Soccer Buzz Polls are published weekly and rank the Top 30 teams in the Nation as well as the Top 15 teams in each of the (6) NCAA and NSCAA recognized regions. In the 1996 and 1997 seasons, polls were compiled by collecting votes from Buzz editorial staff, NCAA coaches and NCAA institution administrators. In a departure of this procedure, begun in 1998, polls are the expert opinion of Soccer Buzz staff only.

Post season awards for Player of the Year, All-Americas, All-Regional teams, National and Regional Coach of the Year, Freshman of the Year and All-Freshman teams are announced annually. All of these aforementioned awards are voted on by NCAA Division 1 women's soccer head coaches and Soccer Buzz staff. In addition, special recognition awards are presented for Outstanding Media Soccer Publication by an NCAA institution, Best Athletic Web Sites for soccer by an NCAA institution (discontinued in 2003) and Excellence in Sports Information.

Anyone wishing to contribute to our publication may contact our Editor, Landis "Randy" Diggs. We prefer volunteers based throughout the US to allow for better representation of all regions and schools. Any soccer enthusiast who attends collegiate games is a natural candidate for our editorial staff.
